Obituary of Bill Boutilier
It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather Anthony William (Bill) Boutilier 80 of Thorburn on September 30, 2020.
Born in Thorburn, he is the son of the late Henry Lawrence Boutilier and Sarah (Jenny) MacEachern.
He was employed for several years as a welder, chargehand and night Superintendent before his retirement from Trenton works.
Dad was an avid gardener and lover of books as well as a huge history buff and story teller.
He had a fabulous sense of humor which went along with many catch phrases and one liners. Dad was a big family man who spent a good deal of his free time with his wife, children and grandchildren cooking meals, helping prepare for or avidly involved in all the family gatherings. He was a great lover of music and had a great singing voice.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Margaret, Thorburn; 5 daughters Mary MacLeod, MacLellan's Brook; Ruth Boutilier, MacLellan's Brook; Michele Boutilier, Edmonton, AB; Bernice (Bill) Lewis, Trenton and Alice( Gordie) Spaulding, Linacy. He is also survived by a brother Frank(Carol) Boutilier of Thorburn and two sisters Mary Naugle (Pictou) and Genevieve Whelan of Lunenburg.
He was also the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.
He was predeceased by son-in law Danny MacLeod; two brothers Johnny, Thorburn and Lawerence, Ontario; three sisters Bernice Macdonald, Thorburn, Alice who was three and Anastasia who died in infancy.
Bill is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville where a public visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 pm. MASKS ARE REQUIRED
A public funeral service will be held on 2o’clock Monday, Oct. 5 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Father Barrett Clair -Johnson officiating. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, SEAT RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. PLEASE CALL 902-396-4144 FOR SEATING. MASKS ARE
ALSO REQUIRED.
Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn. Donations may be made in honor of his memory to his family.
