Obituary of Debra Avery

The death of Debra Jean Avery, age 73, of Salt Springs, occurred on Thursday, October 22, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her loving family by her side.

Born in New Glasgow, on October 23, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Allan and Eleanor (Hale) MacLeod of Westville.

Debbie worked as a seamstress at various places including MacGregor Bedding, Wear Well Garments, and then Sommex until her retirement.

She will be dearly missed by her son Allan (Denise), Hazel Glen; Karri Tibbel (Thomas), Salt Springs; grandchildren, Renee (Eric Rector), Tara McDonald (Ben), Kale Tibbel; 2 great grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Rector; sisters, Diane Gordon (Bill), Rocklin; Dene MacLeod (Dave), Calgary; brothers, George "Bugs" (Linda), Westville; Scott (Jane), Kentville; Struan, Calgary; sister-in-law Liz MacLeod, New Glasgow; brother-in-law Daniel Avery (Rose), New Glasgow and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Harry and brother Douglas MacLeod.

A special thank you to the ICU Staff of the Aberdeen Hospital.

Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Stillman Cemetery. Donations in Debbie’s memory may be made to Salt Springs 4H Club or the S.P.C.A.
