Obituary of Tim MacKenzie
Timothy Allen MacKenzie, age 50, Victoria Street, Westville, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Verna (Purvis MacKenzie) Hill, Westville and the late David MacKenzie.
Tim was a proud son, brother, father, husband, uncle, and friend. He worked hard and played hard. He had a lifelong career as a projectionist, and worked for Empire Studios, retiring after 27 years. He was instrumental in running the Drive- Ins and was loyal to his job. He loved taking long drives, antique cars, and working with his hands creating beautiful woodwork. He also loved ski-dooing with his best buds. He loved his friends and family first and had a kind heart.
Besides his mother, he will be sadly missed by wife and childhood sweet heart, Helen (MacLeod); son, David, whom he was very proud of ; brothers, Graham, Stellarton; Paul (Colleen), Springville; sisters, Heather Benoit (Dennis), Abercrombie, and Karen MacKenzie, Westville; nephews, David Benoit and Ben MacKenzie, niece Latisha Benoit; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins to whom he was close to and many friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his step-father Hugh Hill.
Cremation has taken place. His memorial service was held Monday from the Lighthouse Ministry Church, Temperance Street, New Glasgow, with Rev. Gordon Wheeler officiating. Interment was in Brookside Cemetery.
