I worked with Jimmie at Miller and MacKinnon Brothers Sawmill. He was friendly and full of humour. He was a great guy to work with. When he opened his own store I really think this is what he was cut out to do. He was always happy and friendly and cracking jokes. Our community has lost another great member. Barb and I want to give our deepest sympathies to his wife and family. Donnie and Barb Parker

We rented a house from Jimmie in the late 90's. He was always on the go - working in the store or driving around on his John Deere tractor mowing the grass. Always had a big smile on his face.
My condolences on his passing.

Our deepest sympathy to Jimmie's family. When I first came back home in 1973, Jimmie would often help me pick out lumber in the old mill yard across from Donald and Verna Yorke's. We would often talk about his idea of building a store. And what a great job he did at that. A smart businessman but an even greater community man. In his heyday, we didn't need a psychologist, you just went up and talked to Jimmie for a bit and suddenly your world looked better. Maybe it was the ice cream, but I think it was the talk too. RIP, Jimmie from Bob and Colleen

Jimmy’s was certainly the “place to go” in our community. It was our first stop on our way home from the hospital with our first born and Jimmy proudly displayed a picture of his youngest customer for many years. We had pet names for each other, “Twit” was his nickname for me and “Nerdo” was mine for him-all in good fun. So many cherished memories of this wonderful man and we send our deepest sympathies to Merilda, Craig, Shannon and family. Rest east Nerdo!! oxo
