I first met Doug through my father Robert. Doug would drop into our sawmill and we would talk about lumber, saw milling, logging and just about any other current event on the go at the time. We truly enjoyed our visits with Doug.....After I left the mill I would run into Doug in town every now and then and we would pick up our conversation just like we were old friends....thats just the way Doug made you feel.....
I am very sorry to hear of Doug's passing......I will sign my fathers name to this posting as he would feel the same.....
Sincerely,
Doug and Robert Lees

I'm so very sorry to read of the passing of Doug! I remember him well as he was great friends with my parents, Murray and Helen Lawson of New Glasgow, when they lived there. He was at our place a lot in his younger years (1970's or so) and I remember the many times Mom and Dad would have friends over, Doug would be there with his guitar and singing away, his happy place I think. I also remember how beautiful his big blue eyes were! The main picture here is how I remember him. My parents retired to PEI and both passed away (Murray on Nov 13, 2007 and Helen on May 19, 2017) but I'm sure would be offering their sincere condolences also. I enjoyed the video - what a big beautiful family. May you find comfort in how many people remember Doug and share in our small way in your grief.
