Obituary of Bob Clark

Robert Earl "Bob" Clark, 83, of Westville died peacefully on July 29, 2010 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital with his family at his side.? Bob began his working career with the Trenton Car Works, the Pictou Shipyards during WWII, and then the Albion Mines in Stellarton. With the decline of coal in Pictou County, he moved to Sobeys, becoming a vacation replacement manager in many stores in N.S. until moving to Antigonish as store manager in 1961. He later became manager of the IGA in Antigonish and remained there until his retirement in 1987. After retirement, he and his beloved wife Kay spent many of their happiest times at the cottage in Caribou River with children, grandchildren, and friends. Bob is survived by son Sandy (Sheila), Big Island, daughter Robena (Rudy Stewart), Lanark, grandchildren Jamie Stewart, Julie Clark (Mark Weaver), Angela Boettcher (Chris), Andrew Clark (Rachel Shepherd), great grandchildren Eli Boettcher and Kaelen Weaver, brother Clifford (Marg), sister Mary Cameron, brother-in-law Dan Thompson (Loreen) and sister-in-law June Clark. He was predeceased by his wife Kay (Thompson), his parents David and Agnes (Fleury) Clark, sisters Elizabeth, Dorothy, Ellen, Rebecca, Pauline, and brothers Ralph, Bill, Raymond, Roy, and a twin brother John Henry in infancy. The family will receive visitors at Eagles Funeral Home from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 on Sunday, August 1. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville, at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 2 with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. A special thank you to all the VON nurses, especially Judy, Michelle, and Maria, all the Palliative Care staff, especially Wanda, Olla, Frances, and Dr. Gerry Farrell.
