Obituary of Cecelia Millen

Cecelia Johanna (Lamey) Millen, Westville, died February 27th, 2022, at Ivy’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton, NS at the age of 92. 
Mom was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Westville to Alexander and Catherine (Beaton) Lamey. 
Mom is survived by her daughter, Karen (David) Hicks;  sons, Ivan (Janice) and Clinton, daughter-in-law, Susan Adams;  brothers,  Larry (Carol) Lamey and Leo (Glenda) Lamey;   sister, Linda Sorel; grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Tobin, Leah (Tom) Willett, Antony (Mary) Millen, Aaron (Heather) Millen, Sara (Trent) Millen, Alisha (Mike) Griffin, Andrea Millen, Chelsey (Matt) Millen, Catherine (Adam) Craig, Ainslie Millen and Charlotte Millen; great grandchildren,  Sam M., Katie, Jeanetta, Danielle, Emily, Lindsay, Kyla, Josie, Sam W., Annabelle (deceased), Nova, Sol, Lazlo, Sloane, and Elliot. 
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Ivan, in 1998, the year they celebrated their 50th wedding  anniversary, her cherished youngest son, Paul and her beloved daughter-in-law, Linda;  brothers, Jim, Willard, Donnie, Bernie and Ken Lamey ; sisters: Mary O’Connor, Theresa, Elizabeth Purcell and Loretta. 
Mom had been an elder at Saint Paul’s United Church and was an active member of various church groups where she found fellowship and nurtured friendships with many people. As well, she was a member of The Women’s Institute and a constant supporter of her community. Her kindness, good humour and intelligence attracted each generation to her home for special occasions, book exchanges, and surprise visits. 
The family would like to thank the staff of Ivy’s Terrace Nursing Home and the VON for their care.
