Obituary of Mary Rundle
Mary Eleanor Rundle, 79, Westville, passed away peacefully at the Odd Fellows Home, Pictou, Wednesday, August 4, 2010, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers for the past years.
Mary was born in Stellarton and was the daughter of the late David Cummings and Hilda (Flemming) Cummings.
In her younger years she worked at Steel Furnishings, New Glasgow, until she started her family becoming a stay at home mom. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her summers at the lake and getting together with her many friends. She was a member of St. Paul United Church and was involved with the U.C.W. Miriam Unit and was also a member of the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years Grant; daughter Arleen, Westville; son Sandy (Ruth), Summerside, PEI; special niece Helen Green (Vernon), Rocklin; grandchildren, Melanie Tidd; Kate, Amanda, and David Rundle, and great-grandson Hayzen Tidd. Mary is also survived by brothers, Robert (Helen), Stellarton; Willliard, B.C.; sisters Isabel Megeney, Glen Haven Manor; and Evelyn Fraser (Archie), Westville.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers David, William, and Edmund Cummings ; twin infants; and sisters Audrey MacDougall and Marie Taylor.
Visitations will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Saturday at Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Cremation will follow with interment in the Auburn Cemetery, Westville. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
