Obituary of Brian Jones
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Alexander Jones age 35 of Kentville, on Friday, March 11th 2022. He passed at home, exactly where he hoped to be surrounded by those who loved him the most.
Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia he was the Son of Alexander “Sandy” (Tammy) Jones of Westville and Paula Marie (Ralph) Delorey of Kentville.
Brian will be sadly miss by his parents, his loving wife Christine May Santos; sons: Henry Alexander Jones of Kentville, Liam Alexander Rice of Kentville, as well as his beloved dog Harley and his sister Sandra (Andrew) Brannen of Lower Sackville;
He is also survived by maternal aunt Anita (Richard) Heighton of Abercrombie, maternal uncle Ron (Joyce) Delorey of East Dalhousie; paternal aunt Marie of Westville, paternal uncles: AJ (Loraine) Jones of Pictou, Allan Jones of Toronto, Ontario, Frank Jones of Westville and John “Bub” (Donna) Jones of Westville; maternal cousins: Michelle Heighton, Diana (Adam) Fergus, Michael (Cristal) Heighton, Keith Delorey, Jennifer (Dean) Delorey. and paternal cousins: Cindy Hayman, John Bourque, Kim Davidson, Stephanie Fortune, Cathy Fraser, Tracy Pettipas, Shelly Jones, Allan Jones, Tanya Jones, Gerard Jones, Steve Labarge, Dea Labarge, Denise Labarge.
Brian is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Paul and Mary Lou Delorey of Fraser’s Mountain and paternal grandparents Leonard and Cassie Jones of Westville paternal uncles, Gerard Jones of Westville, Ralph Jones of Westville, Fred “Deacon” (Rose) Jones of Sudbury, Ontario and Johnny Bourque of Westville.
Brian was a loving husband, father, son, and friend, he lived his life with love, kindness, strength, courage, a sense of adventure, and a wonderful sense of humor until his last moments with us.
He will forever be remembered for his bright smile, heartfelt embraces, and love of friends and family. He was a lover of the great outdoors and as such was an avid fisherman, trapper, hunter and member of the Annapolis Valley Shooting Sports Club.
Brian loved spending his time with friends and family camping, going on nature walks, trips to the beach or park, gardening, and adored family dinners, card and movie nights but most of all, he loved being a dad.
He enjoyed keeping busy by working with his hands, and he did so through various jobs throughout his life. Brian worked at the Acadia Dining Hall, The Tempest Restaurant, Actons Restaurant, Nova Agri, Dave Cavanaugh LTD, the Lions Club, Elderkin’s Farm, and lastly for Michael Gillespie Horticulture Services.
Memorial service for Brian will be held on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 118 Main Street, Wolfville, Nova Scotia with Rev. John McPherson officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery at a future date.
