Obituary of Billy MacLean

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, William Allan “Billy” MacLean, 68 of Central West River.  He passed peacefully on April 25, 2022, at the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Born to the late Vincent and Elsie MacLean, he was one of 2 sons and the last surviving member of their family.

Dad worked for 30+ years at Michelin where he retired.  In his retirement years, he spent his time working at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 16 in Pictou and making sure that his mom, Elsie, and wife, Wendy, had everything they needed in their final years.
He was a wonderful Dad and a great friend to many who was always there to help out in times of need. He had an excellent green thumb, passion for fishing, cooking and reading.

Dad was predeceased by his father, Vincent MacLean, mother, Elsie MacLean, brother, Robert MacLean, and beloved wife of 45 years, Wendy MacLean.

Dad is survived by his children, Robert (Jamie), Megan (Mike), and Michelle; grandchildren, Chloe, Jesse, Braydon, Colton, Makayla and Nathan, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements have been made with Eagles Funeral Home for a private graveside service for family only on Friday April 29, 2022, at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Glen Matheson will officiate the service. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 16, Pictou, on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 4-7 and is open to family and friends. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 16.
