Obituary of Ethel Russell
It is with sadness we announce the death of Ethel Pearl Russell, 92, of Westville on Friday, July 8, 2022 in Glen Haven Manor.
Born in Stellarton on January 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clarke and Irene (Wilson) Wallace.
Ethel started her career working at the box office at the Odeon Theatre. Then went on to work in the lab at Michelin for 20 years before retiring. Ethel was very much a lady, who loved her family and filled her home with warmth and love. Her pleasant and humourous personality was contagious to everyone she met and her smile will always be remembered. Mom enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved sitting outside listening to the birds and watching the deer in the yard. She enjoyed going for drives and a good ol’ shopping trip. Mom loved Christmas and July 1st but most of all, she loved spending time and making memories with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Elizabeth Reim (Butch), Sylvester; son Jack (Coleen), Westville; grandchildren, Joe, Rob, and Amanda Reim, Kim Leudy, Suzannah Nickerson, Tammy Hawboldt, and Natasha Brezinski; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Heighton, Pictou; Sandra MacDonald (Robert), New Glasgow.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob); daughter Yvonne MacGrath; son Robert “Bobby”; and grandson Robert; 2 brothers, Bernard and Jimmy Wallace; and sisters Shirley Armstrong and Doreen Clark.
Her family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff of Glen Haven Manor for the great care given to her during her stay there for the last 3 years.
Ethel is resting at Eagles Funeral Home. There will be a private family visitation. A public funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 12 at 1 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Burial will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Gairloch. Donations in her memory may be made to Glen Haven Manor.
