Obituary of Roy Gower

It is with sadness we announce the death of Cecil “Roy” Gower, 71 who passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born in Tatamagouche, he was a son of the late Roy and Betty (Stevens) Gower.

Roy grew up on Gower Road, West River Station and moved to Hamilton Road upon his marriage. He worked in production at Michelin for over 30 years.  Roy enjoyed sport fishing and hunting and took up golfing upon in his retirement. 

He will be dearly missed by his wife Helen (Dowell), sons Roy (Lynn), Hardwood Hill and Ronnie, Kitchener, Ont; grand children Christopher and Autumn.  He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda Baillie, Joy Gower and Nancy Chapman (Blair) and brothers Dale (Debbie) and Paul (Bobbi) and several nieces and nephews. 

His family will receive visitors and Thursday, August 18 from 6-8 pm and Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 1 o’clock on Friday, Aug. 19 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating.
