Obituary of Jean Robertson

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Jean Robertson, 87, of Westville on September 5, 2022 at the Aberdeen Hospital.

Jean was born in Thorburn on October 1, 1934 to Harry and Florence Stewart.

Jean was a teacher in Thorburn at the Red School and then the White School for her entire career before retiring in 1990.  During her teaching years she enjoyed traveling to England, Scotland, and Wales with her fellow teachers.  Jean enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, listening to music, playing cards, watching baseball and hockey games as well as curling.

Jean was an exceptional mother and grandmother to her family.  She was very much loved and will be missed dearly by all of them.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Harry and Florence Stewart, Thorburn; husband Harry Robertson; son Dale Robertson; brother Hugh Stewart; sister and brother-in-law Gladys and George Mauger and niece Bonnie Mauger; brothers-in-law Walter Jenkins and Rollie Robertson.

Jean is survived by her 3 daughters, Paula Dickson (Ron), their children Ashley Dickson (Mike Pushie), Brittney Sawyer (Jake) and Jordan Dickson (Alisha); daughter  Carla Vladovic and her children Brandon and Michaelea Vladovic; daughter  Gina Munsie (Charlie) and their children Sarah (Yassi) and Melissa Munsie; her sister Judy Jenkins, nephews Josh and John Jenkins; sister-in-law Jeannette Robertson, nephews  Peter and Danny Robertson and niece Sue Ellen Ashland; great grandchildren Alex, Issac, Norah, Millie and Trent.

At this time the family wishes to thank the Aberdeen Hospital fourth floor nurses, the fifth floor Palliative Care nurses, and Dr. Park and Dr. Horton for all the compassionate care given to our Mom and our family over the last couple of weeks.  It was greatly appreciated.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12 at 11 a.m.  at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.  Burial will take place at the Auburn Cemetery with a reception to follow at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Hall, Westville.  Masks are required.  The funeral will be streamed and may be watched by clicking this link: https://youtu.be/Rh5Tid6qKHE
