Obituary of Shirley Thompson
We the family, sadly regret to announce the passing of Shirley Maxine Thompson of Watervale on November 2, 2022 at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Shirley was born in Dawsonville, New Brunswick on November 5, 1933. She was predeceased by her mother, Bertha M. Seaman.
Shirley is survived by her brother John Seaman (Verna) and niece Eloice Seaman.
A very quiet and private person, Shirley lived in her little house that she called a cottage in Watervale for over 40 years. She loved to have a small vegetable garden and flowers. Having a compassion for animals(especially cats), raccoons visited her yard often finding treats that she left out for them. Reading was her past time, as well as having a cup of tea and a cigarette watching game shows.
Shirley’s health deteriorated and on October 9, 2015, she was admitted to the Pictou Rehab where she spent the winter. After leaving there on April 6, 2016, she resided at High Crest Place on Forbes St., New Glasgow and with further declining health, Shirley became a resident of Glen Haven Manor on Feb. 11, 2020
Thank you to the staff of Whispering Tide for their excellent care, especially the palliative attention she received during her last four days.
At Shirley’s request, there will be no visitations or services.
