Obituary of Lynn MacKenzie
With the heaviest of hearts we regret to announce the passing of Lynn (Joyce) MacKenzie, quietly attended by family at the Aberdeen hospital, December 15, 2022.
Lynn was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister whose love of family, wit & wisdom, worked its way into the lives of many who knew her.
Lynn is survived by husband Bill (Arthur Willow) MacKenzie: son David (Margie Atwater), Springhill Junction; daughters Dawn (Lee Fraser) Hopewell; Sandara (Brock) Marshall, Stellarton; Shari Smith-Doudelet (Jay), Montreal; Sara (Kris) MacFarlane, New Glasgow; step daughter Lisa Timmons, Inverness and honorary daughter April Law, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Devon, David, Deidre, Jessie, David, Carly, Mitchell, Maggie, Ashton, Duston, Evan, Brady, Jack and 16 great grandchildren.
As a true Pictou County girl who was raised in Trenton , Lynn, husband Bill & beloved dog Penny took immense pleasure in their grand & great grandchildren, from their home in White Hill.
Lynn worked most of her career at the Aberdeen Hospital and enjoyed everything about life from Bingo, shopping, dancing, cheating at crib and her home to the visits of many, both young and old that she considered extended family.
As the Queen Bee of her hive, Lynn was fiercely protective and quietly generous to all she knew.
Lynn was predeceased by daughter Karen Margaret Smith; parents Lloyd & Margaret Buell; sister Dale & brother Wayne.
A part of our lives forever, Lynn (Mom)’s presence will be deeply missed but always felt in her often repeated last words “I just want you all to know I love you all with all my heart”.
Our gratitude and sincere appreciation to VON, Aberdeen Palliative Care, Dr. Joja and the professionals who tended her
At Lynn’s request, there will be no visitations or funeral service.
