Obituary of Joyce (Hoare) Campbell
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Joyce (Hoare) Campbell, at the age of 80.
Mom was born in New Glasgow and lived her younger years in the “Bullpen” and once leaving the “Bullpen” she spent her life as a Northender. Mom was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton.
Mom worked as a waitress at the Norfolk Hotel and then as a seamstress at Cameron & Fraser until retirement to be home with the love of her life, Gordie Campbell. After mom’s retirement she spent many years volunteering at different organizations throughout the county. Mom was known as an avid crafter and spent hours working on special projects that she gifted to family. She loved shopping for a good bargain, eating in restaurants, Kinsmen bingo, enjoying a cup of tea with a bit of something sweet and puzzles. If she wasn’t in her apartment, you could be sure to find her with her friends in the “puzzle room”. A favourite thing to do was go to the East Side Family Restaurant where the staff treated her like family.
Mom was the happiest when she was with her family, especially “all the kids”. Her brothers meant the world to her, and her sister Marie was her right arm (also known as her twisted sister). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Mom was the daughter of William and Mable (Fogarty) Hoare. She leaves behind her children, Richie ( Margaret Jean), Laurie, Brian (Geri); brothers, Donnie (Kay) Hoare & David (Sharon) Hoare; grandchildren, Celia & Zara, Amber & Raylene, Leslie & Richie; great grandchildren, Maddy, Angel, Layla, Bella & Remi, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Mom will hug again her beloved Gordie, brothers Bob, Bumper, Bernie, and Dougie, her sister Marie, great grandson Frankie and sisters in law Sis, Faye, Marion & Mable.
Special thanks to the Staff of the ER Aberdeen, Dr. Peppard, Dr. Suha Elmasalmeh, Dr. Park & Dr. Hack.
The funeral of Mrs. Joyce Campbell was held 2 o'clock on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Stellarton
Mom requested no flowers and that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
“ Mom I hope you’re swinging” !
