Obituary of Tommy Hilton

John Thomas "Tommy" Hilton, 60, of College Street, Westville, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Eleanor (Leadbeater) Hilton. Tom was an employee of Michelin Tire for 30 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and playing hockey where he was often referred to as "Shack" His main enjoyment was always his family, especially his grandchildren the last few years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Janet (MacPherson); daughter Terri (Paul Kontuk), Stellarton; sons, John Dan, at home; Tommy (Teresa Snell), Westville; David (Alice), Stellarton; and Jim, Westville; 8 grandchildren, Dallas; Jessica, David, Jennifer and John; Keegan, Monica, and Scott; brother, Bill (Pat), Kitchener, Ont.; sister Eleanor Vail (Jim), London, Ont.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandmother Henrietta Scott and special aunt Dorothy "Nan" Reekie, and grandmother Dorothy Hilton with whom Tom resided as a boy. Visitations will be held Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 3 o’clock Sunday from St. Bees Anglican Church, Westville with Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in St. Bees Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the V.O.N.
