Obituary of Florence Langille

Florence Isabel Langille, age 86 of Westville, N.S., passed away on Thursday January 26, 2023 in Aberdeen Hospital.

Born April 28, 1936, in Stellarton, N.S., Florence was a daughter of the late Alexander and Ida (Ross) MacKay.

Florence was a lifelong resident of Westville. Florence worked at Fraser Mason and Fraser, later known as Ronco Construction, as secretary for over 20 years. After that she worked at Eastern Business Services for 16 years until her retirement.  Florence was a member of the Church of the Holy Name in Westville.  Her daily and weekly activities included getting her hair done every Saturday without fail. Her daily version of social media included The Chronicle Herald, The Weekly Advocate and The News. She always looked forward to doing the lexicon puzzle.

Surviving are children,  son Roger (Shari) Langille, Sylvester; daughter Lynn (Terry) Beaver, Westville; only granddaughter Lorena (Brett) Beaver Pentz, and only great granddaughter Bailey, Stewiacke;  brother Tommy (Wendy) MacKay, Kingston, O.N.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Garfield Langille, sisters Betty Jardine, Doreen Canning, and brothers Robert “Mac”, Everett and Fulton MacKay.

Florence is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.  Her Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10 o’clock from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating.  Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville.
