Obituary of Mary Schust
With treasured memories of a life well lived, and hearts full of sadness, the family of Mary Loretta Schust (nee Oliver), announces her peaceful passing, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010.
Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, at the Aberdeen Hospital, July 28th, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Henry Oliver and Winnifred (MacNeil) Brown.
She moved to Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 18. Mary played an active role with community volunteering and the local sports council while residing there. She later moved back to Pictou County where she worked as a caregiver and school lunchroom supervisor. Mary was a member of the Westville Flyers softball team, Treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary, Canadian Legion, Stellarton and worked with various charitable organizations to promote community safety and well-being. Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.
Mary is survived by her two sons; Karl Schust (Paula), Halifax; Jeffrey Schust, Mississauga, ON; brothers Jackie Oliver ( Vivian), Stellarton; Percy Oliver ( Florence), Westville; sister Faith Peckham (Tearle), Scarborough, ON and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Karl Heinz Schust; brother, Robert Oliver;(McNeil); and sisters; Marjorie Rivers; Edith Coady and Janie White.
Cremation will be take place. Her family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m Sunday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville followed by grave side committal service at 3:15 pm Sunday at Auburn Cemetery, Westville with the Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Family flowers only. Donation, in memory of Mary, can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
