Obituary of Alanna Fahey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alanna Teresa Fahey in the company of her loving family on February 23, 2023 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital.

Alanna was the daughter of the late Leo and Lillian (Passerini) Fahey.

She will be remembered for her unrelenting love, care and support she continuously gave to her three children, Ben, Sadie, and Sawyer.  They were the love of her life.  She also showered much of her love on her animals, namely Joshi, Teddy, Ella, Mama Cat, and May.  Being curled up on the couch, book in hand, surrounded by them was a constant highlight of her day.  Besides her passion for reading, she took great delight in gardening, doing amazing work in transforming many overrun gardens.  For the past 10 years, Alanna worked in the security division of St. F. X. University, never complaining about the sometimes hazardous drives from Hopewell to Antigonish and back after working successive 12 hour shifts.  During this time, Alanna also worked diligently on restoring her old farmhouse into a comfortable home for her and her children.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Ben, Sadie and Sawyer;  her sister Lee Fahey; brothers Trevor (Jeayn) and Gus (Lynn) and her partner Ratty.

Alanna was predeceased by her brothers Derek and Leo Jr.

The family would like to extend our most sincere thanks and outpouring of love to the Aberdeen chemo unit, palliative and all the nurses and doctors who made these past few years not only as easy as possible but for giving us these past few years to spend with her.   We have not forgotten about all the fine people of Pictou County who had a tremendous amount of love and care for our mother.

We would like to extend an invitation to everyone who loved, cared and/or knew this beautiful force to be reckoned with a.k.a. Alanna Fahey to attend  her  visitation to be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.   Donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit.
