Obituary of Lynn St Amand

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynn St Amand (Reim) on March 26, 2023 in Southbridge Pinewood Nursing home, Thunder Bay,  Ontario,  at the age of 82.

Born in New Glasgow on November 4th 1941, she was the eldest daughter of the late Wentzell and Nita Pearl (Fraser) Reim.

Mom left Nova Scotia ending up in Ontario where she raised her children. However, she never forgot where her roots were and made many trips to Nova Scotia over the years to visit family. She moved back to Nova Scotia after her children were grown for a brief period to which she moved back to Ontario so she could be closer to her grandchildren. Mom worked as Personal Support Worker and cared for many people for many years. Mom loved her grandchildren, fishing and camping and finding a good bargain at a yard sale.

Mom is survived by her former husband Richard St Amand ; sons Jamie St Amand, Michael Hector  and Jody Hector; daughter Christine (John) Newton; grandchildren,  Lysandra, Krista (Mathieu), Joey, Richard (Jessica), Andrew, Matthew , Joseph and Jody; great grandchildren Caleb, Emily, Simon, Brielle, Ben, Sophia, Maximus, Dominic and Elaina.  She is also survived by three sisters,  Sharon (Lindsey) Holliday,  Fran, and Wenda (Larry) Hay;  brother Butch (Liz) Reim,  and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her brother Stanford in infancy; brothers in law Allan Whytewood and Charlie Fraser.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation or service. A family grave side service will be held at Lorne street Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.

Christine would like to thank the staff at Southbridge Pinewood (Blue Heron),  and a special Thank You to Maria Mckerracher for always being there for Mom and I.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
