Obituary of Pauline Chapman

Pauline Esther Chapman, 93, of Riverton, went home to the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Seibert and Elsie (Chell) Fisher. The family moved from Springhill to various locations, including Masstown, Wallace, and settled in Pictou Landing where she spent her teenage years and young adult life.

In her early years, prior to her marriage, Pauline worked at The Tea Room (MacGregors). She also worked at Corney’s Shoe Store in Pictou for many years later in her life after spending time to raise her six children. She truly enjoyed her work there and made lifetime friends. In later years, she and her husband purchased and ran the General Store in Sunnybrae where she worked as postmaster and store/book keeper.

Mom lived a full and long life, she loved to cook, sew and garden. She was always busy doing something and had a great desire and love to share the word of God to all she could.

She will be dearly missed by her children Judy Hewitt, Grande Prairie; Richard, Westville; Cathy Fraser, Westville; John (Nancy), Truro; Blair (Nancy), Gairloch; Cecile Deagle (Andrew), Hopewell and her many grand children and great grand children.

Pauline is survived by sisters Betty E. Fisher, Ontario and Greta Hatt (Cecil), Stellarton; sister-in-law Ruth Fisher, Bridgewater and many and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Cecil Chapman; son-in-law Robert Fraser; siblings, Harold Fisher, Chelbert Fisher, Dorothy Fisher, Doris Cummings, Elsie Freeman and Gordon Fisher and infant great grand child Audrey.

Many thanks to staff at Valley View Villa for their love and care for our mother in the past years. You truly do make such an impact on those under your care.
