Obituary of Jean Crosby

Jean F. Crosby, 93, of Durham, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family at her side. Born in New Glasgow, April 7, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Eveline (Fraser) MacKenzie. She enjoyed her gardening and flowers as well as knitting and crocheting. She raised a large family, who were all very special to her, and always put her family first. She will be sadly missed by her sons and daughters, Ralph (Lillian), Westville; Earl (Shirley), Sylvester; Terry (Nancy), Salem; Marion Tracey (David), Grand Cache, Alta.; Douglas, New Glasgow; Gary (Theresa), Mark Road; Sharon Crosby (Eddie Allard), Stellarton; Irene Crosby, Westville; Lawrence (Allyson Gouthro), New Glasgow; Bonnie Livingstone (Richard), Westville; Lloyd (Donna), Westville; Lillian Crosby, at home; Joan Crosby (Floyd Kendall), Durham; 41 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and sister Marion Chabassol, Westville. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph (Sr.); two sons, John and Roy and an infant daughter Jean; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Gracie; brothers Jack, Ballam, Douglas, and Calvin MacKenzie; and sister Marjorie Whooten. Visitations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
