Mr. Joe was a kind, loving, intelligent, fiercely independent gentlemen. He always had time for a tea, a chat and to share some important wisdom. He had a passion for playing the guitar and singing to a rare few. Mr. Joe was an impressive wine maker and brewer. His homemade fireball would stand the hairs up on the back of your neck. Mr. Joe always enjoyed looking smart and spent many years working in retail, then opened his own clothing store in Antigonish, Gillis Men’s store.
Joseph fought aggressive cancer with dignity and respect for himself and all those around him. He trusted in Dr. Steve Gallant of Antigonish. Dr. Gallant never lost that trust and supported Joe to his last days. Mr. Joe was incredibly thankful to his friends Larry, Brenda, Judy, Alberta for the calls, visits and food, VON Cape Breton, VON New Glasgow, Palliative Care Consult Nurse Rachel MacDonald, Pharmacist David at Pharmacy First Stellerton, the entire staff of the Palliative Care unit 5th floor at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
As per Mr. Joe’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
