Obituary of Tommy Campbell Gallant

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas “Tommy” Lewis  Campbell Gallant, 53, of Pictou on August 17, 2023.

Born in Charlottetown, PEI on September 9, 1969 to the late Arthur and Theresa Gallant (DeCourcey).

Tommy grew up in Charlottetown as a young boy and after working hard to get his high school diploma he went on to attend the University of P.E.I. with a Bachelor of Science with honours in Biology and was on the Deans List which paved his way to receive multiple awards and scholarships.   One of these awards was the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.  He wasn’t done yet, he went on to accomplish a Master of Science at Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Agricultural College and with those degrees and being a talented artist gave him the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries and designing a logo for a company in Belarus.  Tommy also has multiple publications and prestigious awards in science research.

Tommy met the love of his life Tammy in 2014 and they were an instant match with a shared love of adventure.  Tommy loved to carry out any and all of Tammy’s adventurous ideas, no matter how crazy they seemed or a simple walk on the beach with Delilah the Pampered Goat.  Tommy stepped in to the role of dad with no questions and with his whole heart.  He went from a Jeep to a mini van and loved every minute of it.  He was a proud volunteer of the Sunrise Trail 4-H Club.  “Tom Bom” was Oceanna’s biggest cheer leader, he loved fishing, camping, and lending a helping hand.

Tommy worked at many different variety of jobs throughout his short life, but most recently was the proud owner of his own business, Breath Easy Heat Pump Cleaning.  Tommy quickly became well know for his reliable work and made many friends along the way.  He took great pride in his business and work.

Tommy leaves behind his loving wife Tammy Campbell Gallant; children Austin Campbell (New Glasgow), Sabrina LeBoeuf (Adam Conrad), Halifax; Oceanna Campbell, at home.  He will be fondly remembered and loved by his siblings, Sharon MacGillivray, Peter Gallant, Valerie Castford, Leo Gallant, Rosemary MacDonald (Marvin), Rita Coffin (Joseph), Noelle Green (Richard), all of P.E.I.; in laws Joe and Mary Campbell, Pictou; brothers-in-law Victor Campbell, Ont., Hector Campbell, Halifax; many special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and special friends that were like family.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Paddy MacGillivray and Billy Castford.
