Obituary of Heather Glennie

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Margaret Heather Glennie at her home on August 23, 2023.

Heather was born on March 23, 1972, a daughter of Margaret “Sharon” (Wadden) and the late Harvey Martin.

She was a graduate of the Business Program at N.S.C.C., Stellarton. She enjoyed her years of employment at Riverview Residential Centre, Riverton.

Heather and Scott’s love began in their teenage years, where they grew up together and loved the life they built.  Throughout their lives together, Scott’s priority was Heather’s happiness.  Heather’s whole life revolved around their home in Mill Brook where she took great pride in opening her heart and home to her family, wide circle of friends and her beloved pets Wiser and Delia.  Many evenings, you could find her and Scott in the garage with their close friends and neighbour Ed and Ora Dixon along with their boys Edmund and Adam.

Heather loved spending many hours at the auctions and Value Village with her mother where she would always find treasures to take home. She was always planning their next adventures.

Heather loved her nieces and nephews, Kyla, Dawn, Sam, Sarah, Jillian and Daniel.  She couldn’t wait to shower them all with her gifts and tokens of love.

Heather’s gentle, compassionate and generous spirit shone her whole life.  Her dry sense of homour and quick wit was second to none.  As a family, we consider Heather our precious gift.

Surviving besides her husband Scott is her mother Sharon and stepfather Allan Cyr, Hopewell; brothers, Harvey Martin (Judy), Westville, Les Martin, Lorne; sister Andrea MacEachern (Bill), Lorne; step sister Samantha MacLellan (Mike), BC.  She is also survived by brother-in-law Mike Glennie (Sally), Westville; sister-in-law Patty Molyneaux, Virginia Beach.

Heather was predeceased by her father Harvey Martin; father and mother-in-law Jim and Judy Glennie; brother-in-law Jamie Molyneaux; and sister-in-law Patty MacKay.

Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
