Obituary of Phyllis Adamson

Phyllis Adamson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on August 14th, 2023, in Pickering, Ontario, at the age of 94.

She was born on July 7th, 1929, in the charming town of Stellarton, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Walter A. (Gus) Riley and Dorothy (Weir).

She is survived by her children, Everett, Roland (Sharon), Marlene (Al), and Raymond (Hilary) and her cherished grandchildren: Jason (Cindy), Steven (Kate), Sean, Scott (Jen], Jessica (Lorenzo), and Spencer. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, for whom she had boundless affection.Great-grandchildren Cameron, Joseph, Sophia, and Nash brought immense joy to Phyllis's life, and she reveled in hearing about their exploits. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by her husband, Everett, and her siblings Al, Kathleen, and Janet, Phyllis carried their memories in her heart and cherished the special moments they shared throughout her life.

Phyllis had treasured memories of growing up in small-town Nova Scotia and her travels to various corners of the world. These adventures enriched her life and broadened her perspective, leaving her with a wealth of stories and experiences to share with family and friends. Phyllis enjoyed a vibrant social life, fostering meaningful friendships through her involvement in Rotary, winter escapes to Florida, participation in Probus, and through her time living at Chartwell Pickering Centre, and finally Viva Pickering.

A celebration of Phyllis Adamson's life will be held at 11:30 am  on September 18th, 2023, at Scotch Hill Cemetery, Nova Scotia with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Canada, or a charity of your choice.

As we bid farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, we take solace in knowing that she can now rest in eternal peace.
