Obituary of Larry Langille

We the family sadly announce the death of Lawrence Edward “Larry” Langille, age 68 of Westville.  Larry passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his wife and daughter by his side.

Born in New Glasgow on July 16, 1955, he was a son of the late James and Muriel (Weatherbie) Langille.

Larry graduated from Pictou County Vocational School  and Nova Scotia Institute of Technology as a machinist.  He started work in the marine finish department at Hawker Siddley in 1975 which became Trenton Works, retiring after 36 years.  One of Larry’s proud accomplishments was building a shaft for the Hoover Dam.  He was an avid sport fisherman and enjoyed watching hockey, especially the Montreal Canadians.  His passion was collecting hockey cards and comic books, watching westerns, and murder mysteries.  

Larry leaves behind his true soul mate, his wife Nancy of 46 years, who never left his side lovingly through sickness and health until the very end; his daughters Tabatha Pye (Bill) and their son Kristopher, Trenton; Tanya Campbell (Stephen) and their children Ethan, Quinn, and Julia, Upper Tantallon; Katharine Payne (Brandon), North Carolina; sister Eileen Pitts, New Glasgow; special nephew Sean Langille, Durham; sisters-in-law Debbie MacCullum, Truro; Carol Cameron, Westville; Paula Langille, Westville; several nieces and nephews; 4 fur babies, Princess, Maggie May, Holly Berry and Buddy Bear.  

Larry was predeceased by his parents; his brother James “Jim” Langille; father and mother-in-law Clifford and Della Morris.  

Larry is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Monday from 10-11 a.m. from where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.  with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Donations in Larry's memory may be made to the Pictou County Rivers Association or to his family.  Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
