Obituary of Ira MacDonald

The death of Ira Milton MacDonald, age 82, of Westville, occurred on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.  

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Ira and Lillian (Lochead) MacDonald. He was predeceased by his younger brother Roy MacDonald.

Ira will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Bernadette (Comeau).

Ira had many jobs over the years. He worked in the bank traveling to many different places like Doaketown, Halifax and Westville. Ira decided to change careers and took a job in Antigonish as an accountant.  When traveling back and forth became too much, he opened I.M. MacDonald’s Confectionary in Westville which he owned and operated along with his brother Roy.  Ira has been residing in Glen Haven Manor for the last few years.

Ira is resting at Eagles Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. His funeral service for family and friends will be held 1 o’clock Saturday, October 7th at Eagles Funeral Chapel.
