Obituary of John Henry Wilson
It is with sadness we announce the unexpected passing of John Henry Wilson, 66 of Landsdowne, which occurred on Saturday November 4, 2023 at his home.
John Henry was born in New Glasgow on June 18, 1957, a son of the late Frank and Kathleen (Rice) Wilson.
John Henry grew up as a boy in Fox Brook and later moved to his original homestead in Landsdowne. He owned and operated John H. Wilson Towing and Auto Salvage for over 40 years. John Henry never hesitated to answer his calls through all hours of the day and night in many snow, ice and rain storms. He was an former member of the Pictou County Car Club having a passion for collecting antique cars and trucks and loved to attend the car shows where he won many trophies.
He is survived by his daughter Alicia Ward (Bryan); son John; grandchildren Kyle (Jenna), Felicity (Mitchell), Katie and Brandon and Mallory; great-grand- daughter Octavia; brothers, Bobby, Geordie and Ron (Mona) and sisters Gloria Crawford, Corrine Fraser, and Judy Penny.
He was predeceased by brother Richard and sisters Sharon Logan and Isabel Whynacht.
Visitations will be held on Monday Nov. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
