Obituary of Preston Lochead

– It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Robert "Preston" Lochead, 36, of Airdrie, Alberta, formerly of Pictou County on November 20, 2010. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Nancy Spanks and Harvey (Debbie) Lochead. Preston lived in Lyons Brook most of his life before moving to Calgary 4 years ago for work. He will be remembered by his many friends and family for his love of poker and playing darts. He was a loving father, son and friend; he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his common law wife Sally Wheeler; his children Emma, Luke and Alex Lochead; brothers Harvey and Alex Lochead; Wayne Spanks; Kelly and Nathan Goodall; Mark and Greg Skidmore; sisters Margaret Leese, Tracy Fukes, Pam Goodall and Katelyn Lochead. He was predeceased by grandparents Mary and James Spanks and Ellen and Alex Lochead. His remains will rest in the Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visitation from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday and 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Cremation will follow. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Rocklin. Flowers by family only. Donations in memory of Preston may be made to a trust fund for his children at the Scotiabank, Pictou Branch
