Mary K. and I are very saddened by the passing of my dear cousin Betty and extend heartfelt sympathy to all family members at this most difficult time. Betty was an amazing mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to the many people who loved and respected her for her kind, quiet ways. I have said hundreds of times over several decades that Betty always reminded me of our grandmother Sarah MacKinnon who possessed such outstanding qualities of warmth and gentleness. She will indeed be greatly missed and long remembered!

I had the honour of meeting this beautiful, kind, gentle lady. Family was the most important thing to Mrs. Wood. The smile and warmth she exuded, brightened a day. A very quiet and unassuming lady who was well loved and respected. My heart goes out to Sarah, Carson, Gracie and all of Mrs. Wood's family . Treausure the memories <3

My condolences for your loss. Betty was a treasure to my Mum, Jessie Wood. They had a bond like no other
and I loved to visit Betty with Mum. My last visit with Betty was in Sept. 2022. I told her how much she meant to Mum and that she always said, “Betty is just such a pet!” Betty said “Oh no! Your Mother was the pet!” As she shook her head. That’s just how Betty was. I am so thankful she was in my mother’s life and in turn, in mine. Betty and Chester were in Germany when Dad and Mum were there and I was born, so I have known her all of my life. I remember fondly our visits with Betty, Chester and the kids on Mount Thom. Such a loss but I like to imagine my parents and Betty and Chester are together again.

Aunt Bet was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest woman I had the honor of loving, and being loved by. In all my years I have never heard her speak an unkind word about anyone. She had a hard life, but this never changed her pure heart. She was loved by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest easy Aunt Bet, I love you and will forever miss you.
I can imagine you, Sally and my mom having a grand reunion in heaven.

I almost got 38 years with you. My children got 14 and 11 years. But anyone who got to spend just 1 minute with you was blessed. Blessed by your small but mighty hands and big heart. You were an amazing mother, even to those who weren’t your own. You were everyone’s Aunt Bet or Grandma. You were the do drop in. You always had a pan of biscuits ready. You were always warming your cup of tea for the 4th time. You were the best baker. You gave the best hugs. You were my mentor. You were the hardest worker I knew. Which you instilled in all of your children and then your grandchildren. You preached kindness. Your colour was red. You told me a couple of days before you left us that we will always remember you by your scarfs you wore all year around. You were the first person I called with good and bad news because you never judged. I only got 37 short years with you!
