Funeral Service

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald. His funeral service will be streamed live and may be watched by clicking on the link at the bottom of the obituary.

Obituary of Vernon Wilson

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vernon “Tubby” Wilson, age 90, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Aberdeen Hospital on Monday, February 26.

Born in New Glasgow on September 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Ernest and Charlotte (Crawford) Wilson.

Tubby was a carpenter for many years at General Builders in Westville. Later, he was a foreman for the Department of Transportation where he eventually retired. Tubby enjoyed seasonal camping with his family and many friends. He was passionate about farming and working with animals and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his love of family and kind, gentle way.

He was predeceased by his wife Myrtle O’Reilly and his first-born son Vernon Junior, brother Ernie and sister Eileen. 

He will be dearly missed by his 5 children, John, Steven, Paul (Carolyn), Mike (Kelly), Robb (Dana); grandchildren Nena, Brandon, Samantha, Brennan, Caelan;   great grand children Myla, Everleigh, Tatum, Samantha, Eric, Ryan, and Abby.
