Obituary of Donna Cyr

Donna Cyr, 67 of Churchville, formerly of Westville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded with her  family and loved ones by her side on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Beloved daughter of Edna Cyr, she was born and raised in Westville.

Donna is survived by  her loving wife Cindy Urquhart;   daughter, Aly Pelrine (Devon MacPhee);  grandson, Beau Edward;  brothers, Paul Cyr (Heather ), Mark Cyr (Amanda);  brother in law, Edward Urquhart (Alana Hurov);  nieces and nephews, Brooke Cyr, Jenna Cyr, Logan Fraser, Katherine Urquhart;  close companions, Struan MacLeod, Kim Reyno: her Earth Angels, Pam Lavers, Amy Delorey, Alaine Urquhart-Halliday, Rhonda MacDonald, Tammy Hawboldt and Crystal Belong;  many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Growing up in Westville, Foxbrook (Cyr Lane) with her Mother and 2 younger brothers, Paul and Mark,  Donna was diligent and compassionate right from day one.   She excelled in safeguarding and nurturing her family, ensuring the well-being of everyone.

Donna dedicated her entire life to being a diligent caregiver, she lavished love upon each and every client that she cared for. Donna has taught the clients and staff how to do things right, she consistently make accurate judgments without any errors, she was simply always right. Donna spent 33 years as a residential councilor at Riverview Home, from there she returned to school and received her CCA certificate. Finishing her career at Valley View Villa, dedicating 41 years to the care of others through work and at home. Donna was a resilient and assertive woman, she championed the cause of those who were voiceless, made sound decisions, even when it diverged from policy. She ensured all clients maintained a life of dignity while also filling the room with love.

Donna had an immense heart, yet she didn’t tolerate any nonsense, she got straight to the point and told it how it was. Donna experienced a life filled with unforeseen affection, she was overwhelmed with love when her grandson, Beau Edward entered this world, she cherished every moment spent with him and he brought nothing but radiance to her world. Ultimately, family was paramount for Donna, and as long as she had her loved ones, nothing else held significance.

Donna's absence will be profoundly felt and we will honour her memory daily, life has transformed, but it hasn’t concluded.

Donations may be made in Donna’s memory to Riverview Home.
