Obituary of Hazel Evelyn Bannier

It is with much love and sadness we announce the passing of Hazel Evelyn Bannier (nee Clark) of Gaspe, Quebec, on April 3, 2024 at the age of 96 years.

Hazel  passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Glen Haven Manor in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband Francis Bannier, her parents Hubert and Elise Clark, and her siblings Sydney, Jean, and Margaret.

Hazel is survived by her children Bill Bannier (Peggy), Judy Topping (Keith), and Cheryl Bannier, her granddaughters Tracy Bannier (Scott), and  Heather Brain  (Michael), her great grandchildren Ingrid, Hazel, William, and Thomas, her brother Charles Clark, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Hazel loved knitting, baking, and always had time for a chat on the telephone. In later years Hazel split her time between her home in Gaspe, Quebec, and her son’s home in Westville, Nova Scotia allowing her to spend wonderful time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

A special thanks to the staff of Glen Haven Manor for the care and kindness they showed to Hazel.

Funeral service and burial will take place at a later date in Gaspe, Quebec. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Wakeham, Quebec.
