Obituary of Helen Grace Hayes

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Helen Grace Hayes (age 81) of Stellarton on Saturday April 20th, 2024 in the palliative care unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was a very kindhearted and gentle lady, who always saw the best in everyone she met. She loved spending time with her soulmate Jim. From watching tv together to the constant kisses good night, their love never unwavered. She also loved her children and grandchildren with all her being . Helen worked for the Department of Mines and Energy in Stellarton for 32 years.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years James Emery Hayes, children Heidi Hayes of Stellarton and Harlin Hayes of Middle Sackville; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Matthew and Kristian Hayes; sisters Elizabeth Baillie and Viola Price, many nieces and nephews, and special friend Alicia Tupper.

She is predeceased by daughter Nancy Lee Hayes, parents Albert and Freda Cadwell, and siblings Isabel, Sadie, Hazel and Buddy.

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm and 5-7pm Tuesday April 23rd, 2024 in the Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday April 24th 2024 from the Eagles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jun-hyok Chon officiating. Donations in her memory can be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society or a charity of your choice . Family
