Obituary of Fred MacIntosh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Frederick "Fred" MacIntosh, on Wednesday May 15, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Glasgow, on March 8, 1954.  Fred was the cherished son the late Alex and Margaret (Campbell) MacIntosh.

Fred resided in Westville with the love of his life, Debbie.

Fred was an outdoor person, enjoying nothing more than spending time with his large family.  In his younger years, Fred worked at various tire shops throughout the area.

Fred is survived by his wife Debbie, sons Gerry (Amanda) and Gordon (Gloria);  grandchildren Zachary, Evan. Skye, Lou, Samantha, Dylan; chosen grandchildren; Jordan, Nicky and Robbie and great-grandson Parker;  also by brothers Sandy (Helen), Gordon (Cathy), and Ross (Mary Clare); sister Kathryn (Bob) Daley; father-in-law Roy Cormier; brother-in-law John Hector MacKenzie.  Fred had many nieces and nephews and extended family - too many to list - who will miss him dearly.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, infant son Aaron, brothers John and Willard, as well as sisters Peggy and Betty, mother-in-law Grace Cormier.

Anyone who knew Fred, was aware of his unique sense of humor, which he freely shared with everyone.

The family would like to thank the QEII cancer department as well as doctors and nurses at the Aberdeen Hospital for the exceptional care given to Fred, as well as unwavering support to his family.

Cremation has taken place.  Fred's family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 18th from noon to 1:45pm at Eagles Funeral Home, with service to follow at 2pm.  Burial of ashes will be at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating.  Reception to follow at St. Andrew's church hall.  Family flowers only, if so desired, donations in Fred's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
