John Darke passed away peacefully on the early morning of May 19, 2024 at Tatamagouche Hospital with family by his side. Born December 4, 1946 in England, John moved to Canada in 1973, bringing with him a legacy of love, strength, and warmth that touched many lives.

John was the beloved son of Reginald Joseph Darke, born in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, and Eileen Louise Holland, born in Salford, Lancashire, England.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Darke, who stood by his side with unwavering support and affection.

A heartfelt message from his daughter Laura reads: "To my father, thank you for being my dad. I know your spirit will be beside me no matter where I am, and I will be forever grateful. Love you always, Laura xo."

John's love extended to his stepchildren and their families, who cherished him deeply.
He came into their lives and quickly impacted them all. The time with him was not enough, but the memories and lessons he taught will never fade. He might not have started as a part of our family, but it felt like he had always been.

He is also survived by daughters, Marie (EJ) Beausoleil, Wanda (Cory) Gray; son, Thomas Campbell; grandchildren, Alexander, Samuel, Aonghus, Joceline, Catriona, Genevieve, Sarah, Maya, Kalen, Travis, Ethan and Emma.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent, respectful care and dignity shown to John by the doctors and nurses at Tatamagouche Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Robert Bush, an incredible doctor whom John greatly respected for his true empathy and care. The family will be forever grateful.

John’s passing leaves an emptiness, but the impact he had as a husband, father, stepfather, and grandparent will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His life was a testament to love, family, and the enduring spirit of kindness.

Rest in peace, John. You will be missed, but your spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved you.
