Obituary of Gene Allen

Gene Daniel Allen, age 56, Hopewell passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Parrsboro , he was a son of the late Havelock and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Allen. Gene and his wife owned and operated Village Variety in Hopewell. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Arthene (Wood) Russell; his son, Steven, Westville; stepchildren, Dan Murphy (Muriel), New Glasgow; Tom Murphy (Patti), Westville; Lorrie Smythe (Rob), Fraser’s Mountain and 6 grand children. He is also survived by sisters, Sheila Lake, Amherst; Rosemary Sutherland, Manitoba; Tammy Villiacrusis, Calgary; brothers, David, Blue Mountain; Curtis, Alberta and Jeff, Truro. He was predeceased by his brother Larry, Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A public memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Fred Jeffery, Corps Sergeant Major ( R ) officiating.
