Obituary of Irene T. Crosby

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irene T. Crosby (73) of Stellarton, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her loving family at her side. 

Born in New Glasgow, on August 23, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Raymond Crosby Sr. and Jean Forbes Crosby. 

Irene was fond of word search puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and most recently she developed a passion for diamond art. She was well known for her fierce love of bald eagles and enjoyed collecting bald eagle souvenirs. In Irene’s spare time, she adored attending bingo with her family members. 

She will be sadly missed by her son and daughters, Bonnie Jean Malcolm (Gordon), New Glasgow; Barbara Ann Cardiff, Stellarton; Douglas Donald Mahoney (Cathy), Thorburn; Amanda Charmaine Vincent (Fred), New Glasgow; April Dawn MacIntosh, New Glasgow. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Jake Mahoney, New Glasgow; Luke MacPherson, New Glasgow; Sabrina MacPherson, Pictou; Tyler Mahoney, Thorburn; Megan Williams, Thorburn; Christina Cardiff, New Glasgow; Travis Cardiff, New Glasgow; Samantha Vincent, Pictou; Kyle Vincent, New Glasgow; Savannah Murray, Dartmouth; Sydney Murray, Stellarton. Along with six great-grandchildren, five sisters, and five brothers. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, one infant sister, and one grandchild; Grace Bernard. 

Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 at Eagles Funeral Chapel in Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Cremation will take place at a later date.
