Obituary of H. Alice MacDonald

H. Alice MacDonald, age 94, of Westville, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital .

Born in Westville, Alice was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Porter) Rankin.

She was predeceased by her husband Gordon of 74 years; sisters Dorothy Crawford (Harry), Margaret Shenton (James), Jean Fraser (Harold), and Lila Rankin; brothers Robert Rankin (Kathleen), Glen, Ralph; brothers-in-law Donald Semple, and Alison (Alice) MacDonald; sister-in-law Betty Campbell (Earl).

She is survived by sister Shirley Semple; sister-in-law Erna Rankin; sons Gordon (Norma), and Larry (Lawrence); daughter Sandra Partington (Robert); grandchildren Janet, Tom, David, Michael and Donald; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mom appreciated the many visits from her niece Linda Fraser.

Mom did a wonderful job of caring and looking after her family and friends with grace and humility. We will always remember her good cookies and biscuits. Mom's door was always open, and she always had a place at her table for guests to join in for a meal or a game of cards. Mom was also an active member of St. Paul United Church and an avid quilter.
