Obituary of Garfield Frederick Johnson

Garfield Frederick Johnson, 82, of Granton, NS passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Pitts) Johnson.

Garfield was self-employed, owning and operating Johnson's Scrap Metal, Johnson's Recycling and Johnson's Bottle Exchange.

Garfield is survived by his wife Nancy (Dixon); sons Mark MacPherson; Ray (Jane) Johnson; daughters Darlene (Montie) Chapman; and Joanne (Norm) Buckee; five grandchildren:  Andrew, Adam, Justin, Corey and Kevin; great-grandchildren:  Taylor, Isabella, Cameron, Olivia and Tobias; and a brother Ray.

Besides his parents, Garfield was predeceased by a brother Ben, a son Kevin and sisters Faye and Anne.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.  Private family burial will be held at a later date at Holy Name Cemetery.
