Obituary of Willena Carson

It is with great sadness that we announce, Willena Carson 94 of Westville formally from Rockfield Pictou County passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025 at Glen Haven Manor.
Willena was born in Rockfield on November 16, 1930 where she lived for the majority of her life. Working on the family farm caring for her mother and brother. There was never a shortage of homemade bread, loads of sweets, and a bottle of molasses on the table when anyone stopped to visit. Life in Rockfield instilled a tremendous work ethic, living on a farm no task was too great to tackle, and she did. Having a true appreciation of nature, she grew plants and worked in the vegetable garden. Her love for all pets was always evident, any pet would receive the absolute best of care.
My sister and I held a special place in our aunt‘s heart, not having children of her own. We were the recipients of her love. Forever grateful for all she has enriched our lives. An avid card player, somehow we often managed to beat her. A life long Toronto Maple Leafs fan ,rarely did she  miss Hockey Night in Canada, boasting  that she saw many cup wins from the Leafs.

She is survived by her nephew Earle (Karen ) Carson of Westville, niece Colleen (Mike) Richard of Dawson Creek ,British Columbia, great nephews/ nieces, Karlee and Matthew Carson, Nicholas and Emily Richard. Predeceased by brothers Robert Carson and Graham (Patsy) Carson .
A special thank you to the staff of Glen Haven Manor (River Glen), they became her extended family, the wonderful love and care given to our aunt was exceptional. We are forever grateful. Hey!
Visitation will be held at Eagles Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1st  from 1 to 2 PM  with funeral service to follow. Committal service will be at a later date.
