Obituary of Vernon Fraser

Vernon John Fraser, age 46 , South Main Street, Westville, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with A.L.S. Born in New Glasgow on May 7, 1964, he was a son of Joyce (Stewart) Fraser, Valley View Villa and the late Vernon Fraser. Vernon was a former employee of Trenton Works until its closure. He was also a carpenter by trade, working with various contractors, eventually owning his own contracting company until his illness. Vernon had a love for music, but most of all enjoyed being with his friends and family. He will be sadly missed by his wife and soul mate Sally (Fraser) and son Dylan; also by children Josie, Colin, Christopher ( Katelyn), and Shayla (Robbie Fraser); brothers and sister , Russell MacKay (Yvette Colette), NB; Sheryl Hillier (Tom), Linacy, and Douglas Fraser, Trenton; step-sister Angela LeBlanc (Danny), Merigomish; brother- in-law James "Jay" (Pauline) Fraser, Westville; aunt Phyllis Fraser, Stellarton; and close friend Steven Cyr, Churchville. Visitations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Saturday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to any charity
