Obituary of Ann Gordon-Adamson

Mary Anna Isabel “Ann” Gordon-Adamson, 89, of Drummond Road, Westville, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born July 14, 1921 in Sunny Brae, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Myrtle (Cummings) MacDonald. Ann was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville, where she was a long time member of the choir, the Bessie Munro A.M.S and the Barbara MacKenzie Guild. For many years she belonged to the Quilters group at the Museum of Industry and was also a member of the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge. She worked at Sunset Haven and Glen Haven Manor. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She survived by her husband Forrest Adamson; two sons, Merle Gordon (Audrey), Hopewell; and Allen Gordon (Jan), Edmonton, AB; brother Lloyd MacDonald (Joy), Hopewell; 5 grandchildren, Todd Gordon (Freida), Vancouver; Jaren Gordon, Edmonton; Kristy Todd (Scott), Edmonton; Isabelle MacGregor and Spenser MacGregor, Meadowville; one great grand child Zoey Todd, Edmonton step children, Elizabeth Adamson, Manitoba, Harlan Adamson, Stellarton, Norma Adamson MacGregor (Sandy), Meadowville; niece Helen Fraser (Greg); nephew John MacDonald (Mary Rita); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Samuel Ross Gordon; Visitations will be held from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Eagles Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Spring burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville, the Palliative Care Society, or a charity of one’s choice.
