Obituary of Dolly Ward

Dorothy "Dolly" Evelyn Ward, 66, passed away peacefully at home in Saltsprings, Pictou Co., Sunday, April 17, 2011. She was born in Truro, Colchester Co. to the late Lemuel and Bessie Henderson on December 23, 1944. Dolly had many interests including a love of children, animals, and travel. She will be remembered by all who knew her with love. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Erving Ward and her five children; Sharon MacKinnon (John); Eric Ward (Wanda); Mike Ward (Kathy); Steven Ward ; and Ollie Edwards (Leonard). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Betty Ward (Cecil), and brothers, John Henderson (Ann); Edgar Henderson (Brenda); Robert Henderson (Sherry). She was predeceased by sister Marge Shipley and brother Joseph Henderson. Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel., Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K. or the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the N.S. Lung Association.
