Obituary of Bill Bonnar

William George "Bill" Bonnar, age 79, of New Glasgow, formerly of Westville and New Waterford passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Waterford, Bill was a son of the late George and Emma (Brown) Bonnar, and was the last surviving member of his family. Bill enjoyed wood working, playing horseshoes, cards, and camping. He was a former member of the Westville Gentlemen’s Hockey League and was a former coach with Westville Minor Hockey. Bill was a maintenance supervisor with the Pictou Regional Housing Commission until retirement He is survived by his wife Shirley (Joudrey); two daughters, Debbie and Dolina, both in Ontario; step-children Doug Facey (Joyce), Andersons Mtn.; Michael Facey, Calgary; Amanda Facey, Halifax, and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son William "Billy"; sisters Margaret Newman, Elizabeth Lefbvre, and Charlotte; brothers, John, James, Kenneth, Bert, Clarence "Gus" and Michael; and step-father Henry Lee. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service by his request. His interment will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford at a later date.
