Obituary of Gus McMullin
William Augustus "Gus" McMullin, 62, of Eureka, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
Born in New Glasgow on June 15, 1946, Gus was the son of Millie (Jackson) McMullin, Eureka and the late Augustus (Sr.) McMullin.
Gus was a well respected employee of Maritime Beverages for 25 years, until retirement due to ill health.. He was an avid sport fisherman and gardener and had a passion for bird feeding, bird watching, and card playing. He was especially proud of his four beautiful grandchildren and cherished his time with them. During Gus’s illness, week-ends were special times. Gus and Jean would play cards or go for outings with friends Kenny and Sharon. Gus was an adherent of the former Wesley United Church in Eureka.
Gus will be dearly missed by his best friend and light of his life, Jean (Dennis) wife of 35 years; his son, Aaron (Barbara), New Glasgow; and daughter Andrea Craig (Glen Peters), Saint John, NB; four grandchildren, Tyson, Morgan, Zachary and Zoey; his brothers, Bernie (Joanne), Westville, Sid (Paula), PEI, Gary (Marian), Eureka, Charlie, Eureka, Larry (Anne), New Glasgow. Gus will also be missed by his faithful dog Pepper.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 21, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from St. Columba United Church, Hopewell with Rev. Heather Landry officiating. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery. Family flowers only.
