Obituary of Arthur Purvis Ferguson

Arthur Purvis "Fergie" Ferguson, 66, of North Street, Westville, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ina (MacDonald) Ferguson. Art had served with the R.C.A.F. for several years. He resided in Port Hawkesbury in the 1970's where he was a member of the Volunteer Fire Dept. After retiring to Pictou Co., he worked with the Dept. of Natural Resources until his retirement. He enjoyed life, hunting, and fishing, and enjoyed coaching with the Gentlemen’s Hockey League "Coach". He he survived by his brother Robert, Westvile. Visitations will be held Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to St. John Ambulance Pictou Co. 701 Division, the Westville Fire Department, or the Pictou Co. Ground Search & Rescue.
