Obituary of Ruth Ann Howard

Ruth Ann (White) Howard passed away peacefully on Fri. May 27, after a short illness. Ruth was at her sister's home in Dartmouth, NS surrounded by family and friends. Ruth is survived by her partner of 11 years, Fred Cogswell and her daughter Alisa, son Peter and daughter Michelle. Ruth has two grandchildren, Ashley and Donivon, as well as a great granddaughter, Tionna. Ruth, better known as "Ruthie" loved the outdoors and was always making birthday cakes and cooking meals for family and friends. Ruthie was an avid crocheter, and was always doing for others. The joy of her life was her children and grandchildren, and the newest addition to her family, great granddaughter Tionna. Ruth was born in New Glasgow, NS on Dec. 8, 1956. Ruth is the daughter of Queenie Eloise Boggs, and was predeceased by her father, William White. Ruth is survived by siblings, Doris Langille (Kenny), Halifax; Isabelle (John) Hawley, Eastern Passage; Ivy (Sydney) Varner, St. George, NB; Christina (David) Halliday, Foxbrook; Allan White, Riverton; Gerry White (Darlene) Westville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Ruth was predeceased by two brothers, William Langille and Kitchener Langille. The family will receive visitors at Eagles Funeral Home, 1611 N Main St., Westville, NS, on Sun. May 29, at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held 1 o’clock Mon., May 30, at St. Bees Church, 1932 Church St., Westville, NS, followed by interment at St. Bees Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ruthie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of NS, specifically for lung cancer research.
